12 year basic education

The 12 year basic education in the Philippines means that there will be an additional year in elementary and another in high school in the basic education we currently have here in the Philippines. This means that there will be 7 years in elementary and 5 years in high school. It will be implemented because the Philippines has a low level of learning and that the Philippines is the country with the least number of years in basic education in Asia. The reason behind this is that high school graduates are unfit to get a job right after graduation because of the lack of years. They say if we add 2 years in the basic education that we have right now high school graduates can be employed even with out a college degree. It will improve the quality of the education that we have.

This proposal has a good intention still it has effects that can burden some people. One of its consequences is that more expenses for the parents or the people who pay for the education of the students.Even though we have public schools it doesn't mean that their education is totally free. The students rather than graduating in college will have more years studying in school. They should rather make a quality education rather than adding more years in the basic education in the Philippines.

This will be a difficult step for the government. It will be a challenge for them to start the effectiveness right away. Implementing this kind of change should be carefully planned. At first there will be negative response. But in the long run this new agenda will empower the youth of the Philippines. It will make them globally competitive.
